Bank of Greece provides various financial products and services in Greece. The company participates in the formulation and implementation of the monetary policy in the euro area; operates as a national resolution authority for the credit and financial institutions; and monitors the financial system and adopts measures to reduce systemic risk and enhance the financial system. It also provides payment and securities settlement systems; and information on the secondary securities, and the foreign exchange markets. In addition, it sells and purchases gold; and issues daily foreign exchange rates. The company was founded in 1927 and is headquartered in Athens, Greece.
